The Thanksgiving weekend wasn’t just about turkey and stuffing. At High Park Club, huge crowds came to enjoy the intense curling action at the third annual Stu Sells Toronto Tankard bonspiel. Known as one of the premier events on the Ontario Curling Tour calendar, it attracted some of the best curling teams from both inside and outside the province. A strong field of men and women curlers that featured former world champion Colleen Jones, Olympic gold medalist Brad Gushue, reigning world champion Glenn Howard, former world champion Jeff Stoughton and the top-ranked Mike McEwen came out to play hard. The qualifying action started on Friday night and the championship rounds were played on Monday afternoon, with Team Stoughton from Winnipeg winning the men’s final and Team Arsenault from Halifax taking the top prize in the women’s division.
